Share your Chirp's link
Copy your Chirp's link and send it to people, and choose whether anyone or only people with the link can find it.
When you're done, you've copied your Chirp's link and people can chat with it.
Who can do this: the account owner on any plan, and workspace admins (Business). Editors can publish if the owner allows it.
Publish it, then copy the link
-
In the editor, under 8. Sharing, choose who can open it (1):
- Unlisted: anyone with the link. Search engines are asked not to list it.
- Public: anyone. Search engines can find it, and it's listed on your public profile.
-
Click Save. A draft is published as soon as you save it as Unlisted or Public.
-
Click Copy link (2). The link is shown under the button too.
Choose who can open it (1); Copy link (2) copies the address.
Click Save before you copy: Copy link copies what's in the boxes now, even before you save.
From the Share window
Click Share at the top of the editor, or on the Chirp's card on the Chirps page. Click Copy to copy the link. If the Chirp has an access code, a second link with the code built in has its own Copy.
Who can open it in this window changes the choice straight away, without Save: choosing unlisted or public for a draft publishes it, and choosing draft takes it offline at once. (It's the same choice as Draft, Unlisted and Public in the editor. Passwords and invitations are a different setting: see Who can open a Chirp.)
The link
It looks like https://www.chirpbuilder.com/c/your-web-address. The web address can't change once the
Chirp has been published, even if you make it a draft again: "The web address is fixed once a Chirp has
been published." With a main address, Copy link gives your own domain instead, and the Chirp Builder
link in the Share window sends visitors there: see A main address for a Chirp.
Click Open public page at the top of the editor to see it the way visitors do.
If it doesn't work
- People see "Chirp not found": the Chirp is a draft (choose Unlisted or Public and save), or it's archived (click Bring back from the archive in the editor, or Bring back on its card).
- "Your role doesn't include publishing." The account owner can publish it, or let you publish.
- "This account can't publish Chirps right now." Ask us through Help.
- People are asked for a code: the Chirp has an access code. See Ask visitors for an access code.
