Welcome content above the starters

Show a longer welcome, with bold text, lists and links, above your Chirp's conversation starters.

CreatorBusinessAcademyFor: Account owner, Workspace admin, Editor

When you're done, visitors see your welcome before they start chatting.

Who can do this: on the Creator, Business and Academy plans, the account owner and workspace admins and editors. To publish it on a published Chirp, editors need the owner's permission to publish.

Write it

  1. In the editor, under 9. Branding and button, type in Welcome content (optional). Up to 4,000 characters.

Write the welcome with bold text, lists and links.
  2. It's Markdown, so for example:

    • **bold** for bold text
    • a dash and a space at the start of a line for a list
    • [text](https://example.com) for a link, which opens in a new tab
  3. Click Save, then Publish changes on a published Chirp.

What visitors see

A card under your greeting and above your conversation starters. It goes away once the conversation starts.

The welcome card sits above the conversation starters.

Behind a password, invitation or email sign-in, it appears once the visitor is in.

On other plans

On Essentials the box is locked: "Workspace branding, welcome content, themes and a main domain per Chirp come with the Creator, Business and Academy plans." If your plan changes to Essentials, your welcome stays saved but visitors don't see it. Every plan has a short greeting: see Brand color, greeting, a button, and the badge.

If it doesn't work

  • "The welcome text can be up to 4,000 characters"
  • Visitors don't see it: click Publish changes.
