Brand color, greeting, a button, and the badge
Give your Chirp's chat page your color and a greeting, add a button like "Book a call", and remove the Chirp Builder badge.
EssentialsCreatorBusinessAcademyFor: Account owner, Workspace admin, Editor
When you're done, your Chirp's chat page has your color, your greeting and, if you like, your button.
Who can do this: the account owner on any plan, and workspace admins and editors. To get the changes to visitors on a published Chirp, you need to be able to publish: editors only if the owner allows it.
Set them
In the editor, open 9. Branding and button:
- Brand color: pick a color, or type its code like #2563eb. It's used for buttons and your visitors' messages, with black or white text, whichever reads better. Use default removes it.
- Greeting: a first message shown when someone opens the chat, up to 500 characters.
- Welcome content (optional): a longer welcome, on Creator, Business and Academy: see Welcome content above the starters.
- Button text and Button link: an optional button under the chat, such as "Book a call". It needs both, and the link must start with https://.
- Hide the Chirp Builder badge: removes "Made with Chirp Builder" from your chat page.
Click Save. On a published Chirp, click Publish changes too: visitors see these once you publish.
What visitors see
- The greeting (1) appears beside your Chirp's picture until the visitor sends a message. It isn't sent to the AI.
- The button (2) sits under the message box and opens its link in a new tab.
- Without the badge, the footer just says "AI can make mistakes. Check important information.", and the browser tab shows only your Chirp's name.
- Behind a password, invitation or email sign-in, the greeting and the button appear once the visitor is in.
Good to know
- The Chirp Builder logo still shows on cards like the sign-in and "taking a break" pages. Public branding with a logo or a brand name (Creator and up) replaces it, and white label (Business) removes the Chirp Builder name everywhere: see Public branding and white label.
- A workspace color from public branding is used when the Chirp has no color of its own.
- The preview shows what you last saved. On a published Chirp, click Open public page to see what visitors see.
If it doesn't work
- "Brand color must be a color like #2563eb"
- "The greeting can be up to 500 characters"
- "A button needs both its text and its link"
- "Button text can be up to 40 characters"
- "The button link must start with https://": a link starting with http:// isn't accepted.
- "The button link must be a full web address starting with https://"
- Visitors don't see your changes: click Publish changes in the bar at the top of the editor.
