My access is paused

What the "Your access is paused" page means, what still works while your account is paused, what others see, and how to reach us.

EveryoneFor: Account owner, Workspace admin, Editor, Viewer

When you're done, you know what a paused account means and how to get it working again.

Who this is for: anyone whose log-in ends on a page that says "Your access is paused". Only Chirp Builder can pause an account, and only we can restore it.

What you see

When you log in, or open any page of your dashboard, you're signed out and this page opens:

  • Your access is paused
  • "Chirp Builder has paused your account. While it's paused you can't sign in, and your Chirps don't answer visitors. Pausing doesn't delete anything. Contact support and we'll help you sort it out."
  • Contact support, which opens an email to joanaltres@dfydata.com
  • "Or email us at joanaltres@dfydata.com from your account's email address."
  • Back to home
Contact support writes to us from your email app.

Chirp Builder pauses an account by hand. Nothing pauses it by itself: a plan that ends doesn't pause your access (see What you can do without a plan), and neither does a busy month.

Get your access back

  1. Click Contact support. If no email app opens, write to joanaltres@dfydata.com yourself.
  2. Send it from the email address you log in with, so we can find your account. Say that your access is paused, and ask what happened.
  3. When we tell you your access is back, log in again.

The Help page in your dashboard can't be opened while your access is paused, so its Ask us form isn't available: email is the way to reach us. This Help Center stays open to everyone.

While your access is paused

What stops:

  • Your dashboard. Every page of it, including Help, Billing and Settings, signs you out and brings you back here.
  • Your Chirps. Their pages, and the chats on your websites, show visitors "This Chirp is temporarily unavailable. Please check back later."
  • Your Collections. Their pages say "Collection not found" and "The link may be mistyped, or the Collection is no longer shared."
  • Your public profile. It says "Profile not found".
  • The AI tutor in your Academy courses. Students see "The AI tutor isn't available right now. Your lessons and progress still work."
  • Workspaces you share. Your team members don't see them in their Workspace box until your access is back. There's no message about it. Their own accounts aren't affected.
  • Changes from an AI app. A connected AI app can still read your account, but everything else, including a test chat with a Chirp, is refused with "This Chirp Builder account's access is paused, so this AI app can't make changes. The customer can contact Chirp Builder support to sort it out." (An app set to Read only gets its usual read-only message instead.)

What keeps working:

  • Everything is kept. Pausing doesn't delete or change anything: your Chirps, files, Collections, leads, courses, settings and plan stay as they were.
  • Your Academy's students can still sign in, open their lessons, take quizzes and get their certificates.
  • The public site and this Help Center.

When your access is back

Log in again: you were signed out. Everything works again straight away:

  • Your Chirps answer on the next message. Visitors who see the "temporarily unavailable" card need to reload the page.
  • Your Collections, your profile page and the AI tutor are back.
  • Your team members find your shared workspaces in their Workspace box again.

Good to know

  • "Paused" means different things in Chirp Builder. A paused Chirp or a paused workspace has nothing to do with your access: see Fix a problem.
  • A workspace shared with you disappeared? The account owner's access may be paused, their plan may have ended, or their plan may no longer include your role or have a builder seat for you. Ask them. A workspace that isn't in their plan stays in your Workspace box, marked Paused.
  • Visitors and students never see this page. Only the person whose own account is paused does.
