Taking a course in an Academy

How courses built with Chirp Builder work for students: sign in with a code, study at your own pace, ask the AI tutor and get your certificate.

EveryoneFor: Students

You're taking a course from a school, coach or trainer who built it with Chirp Builder. We call their school an Academy. Here's how it works for you.

Who this is for: students. You don't need a Chirp Builder account, and you never need a password.

Your courses (1), and Sign out (2) when you're done.

The short version

  1. Sign in with your email. We email you a 6-digit code; type it in. See Sign in to an Academy.
  2. Get a place on a course. Your teacher may have given you one already, or you ask for one or use a course code. See Get a place on a course.
  3. Study at your own pace. Your progress is saved, so you can stop and carry on later, on any device. See Study a course.
  4. Ask the tutor. If your teacher added one, an AI tutor beside the lesson answers your questions about it. See Ask the course tutor.
  5. Take the quizzes your teacher added. See Take a quiz.
  6. Get your certificate when you finish, if the course has one. See Your certificate.

Find your courses

After you sign in, My courses (1) lists every course you have a place on, with your progress. Sign out (2) signs you out on this device.

Each Academy is separate: signing in to one doesn't sign you in to another. A sign-in lasts 30 days on the device you used.

Who to ask

Your teacher runs the Academy and its courses. For questions about a course, your place on it or a certificate, contact them. For your data, see Your account and your data.
