Your Academy's pages for students

Your Academy has a home page listing its courses, and each course has a page where students sign in and get a place.

AcademyFor: Account owner, Workspace admin, Editor

Students never see your Chirp Builder dashboard. They use your Academy's own pages, which Chirp Builder makes for you from your courses.

Who can do this: accounts on the Academy plan. The pages appear as soon as you set up your Academy.

Your Academy's home page

It's at www.chirpbuilder.com/learn/ followed by your Academy's address. To find the link, look at the top of the Academy page and click Copy or Open.

What students see at your Academy's address.
  • It shows your logo, tagline and description, and a card for each course.
  • Only published courses appear. Drafts and unpublished courses don't.
  • A course with Show in the Academy's course list turned off isn't on the home page, but its own page still works for anyone who has the link. See Course details and settings.
  • Courses appear in the same order as on your Courses tab. Use the arrows there to move one up or down.
  • Sign in at the top lets students sign in and find the courses they have a place on.

A course's page

Each course has its own page, at your Academy's address followed by the course's address, for example /learn/noras-baking-school/bread-basics. Share this link to invite people to a course.

A course's page shows what's inside and how to get a place.

It shows the course's title, subtitle and description, what's inside (its modules and lessons) and the course's tutor, if it has one, so people can see what they'll learn. The Take this course box depends on how students join:

  • You add them: people with a place sign in with their email. Anyone else is told to ask you for one.
  • They ask, you approve: students sign in and click Ask for a place. You approve or decline on the course's Students tab.
  • With a course code: students sign in and enter the code you gave them. Make the code on the course's Students tab first; until then, the page tells people to ask you for a place.

Students sign in with their email address and a code we email them, which works for 10 minutes. They never need a password. See Add and manage students.
