What Chirp Builder does

Build your own AI chat helpers, called Chirps, from your instructions and files, and share them with a link.

EveryoneFor: Anyone

Chirp Builder lets you build your own AI chat helpers, called Chirps, and share them with your customers, students or team. It's made for people moving their Custom GPTs before OpenAI retires them on December 11, 2026, and for anyone starting fresh.

A Chirp's public chat page, as your visitors see it.

What you can do

  • Build a Chirp from a name, instructions and conversation starters, the same parts a Custom GPT has. Your first Chirp in 10 minutes walks you through it.
  • Teach it with knowledge files such as PDFs, Word documents and spreadsheets, so it answers from your own material.
  • Choose its AI model from Claude, GPT, Gemini and many others, and change it any time.
  • Share it. Every Chirp gets its own chat page. Visitors don't need an account of any kind to chat, and you can also put the chat on your own website.
  • Move your Custom GPTs with the help of Claude or ChatGPT. See What MCP is, and moving GPTs with Claude or ChatGPT.

You, the owner, build and manage Chirps in your dashboard. Visitors are the people who chat with a Chirp on its public page. They never see your dashboard, your instructions or your files.

Who pays for what

Your Chirp Builder plan covers the software, hosting and publishing, with unlimited Chirps on every plan. The AI's answers are paid for by your own OpenRouter account, a service that gives you one key for hundreds of AI models. Chirp Builder adds no markup to the AI cost. What OpenRouter is, and who pays for what explains how it works.

Where to start

  1. Have a Chirp Builder plan. Every plan includes unlimited Chirps; see Pricing.
  2. Connect your OpenRouter key: Connect your OpenRouter key.
  3. Build your first Chirp: Your first Chirp in 10 minutes.
  4. Share its link, and watch the conversations come in under Analytics.
