When you're done, visitors can pick which AI model answers them, from the models you allow.

**Who can do this:** anyone who can edit the Chirp, on any plan.

**What you'll need:** a Chirp with its main model chosen. See [Choose your Chirp's AI model](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/openrouter/choose-a-model).

## Turn it on

1. Open the Chirp and scroll to **5. Model**.
2. Turn on **Let visitors switch models** (1).
3. Click **Add another model…** (2), find a model and click it. Repeat for each model you want to offer.

To take a model off the list, click the **X** beside it.

4. Click **Save**, then **Publish changes** if the Chirp is already published.

## What success looks like

5. A small model menu appears at the top of the chat, in your preview and for visitors. The Chirp's
main model is chosen to start with.

Visitors can change the model between messages, but not while an answer is being written.

## Good to know

- Each answer is charged to your OpenRouter account at the price of the model the visitor picked. If you
add premium models, visitors can choose them, so consider limits:
[Keep your AI spending in check](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/openrouter/spending-limits).
- Visitors can only use the models you listed. Turning the switch off sends everyone back to the main
  model.
- Web search, image creation and Actions need models that can use them. If you offer a model without
the **Web search** label, those features won't work while visitors use it.
