When you're done, your Chirp is back the way it was when you published an earlier version.

**Who can do this:** anyone who can edit the Chirp. Publishing the restored version needs publishing
rights.

## How versions are saved

Each time you publish a Chirp, Chirp Builder saves a copy of it. Your plan keeps the latest 10 versions
on Essentials, 30 on Creator and 100 on Business; older ones are removed as new ones arrive.

A version covers the Chirp's settings: name, picture, description, instructions, starters, model,
capabilities, branding and Actions. It doesn't include knowledge files, because file changes apply
straight away.

## Restore a version

1. Open the Chirp and scroll to **Saved versions** near the bottom. Click it to open the list.
2. Each row shows when it was published and where from: **Builder**, **AI app**, **Import**, or
**Support** if our team published it for you. The newest says **Live now**.

![The Saved versions section open: three versions with their dates, Live now on the newest, Builder tags, and a Restore button on the older ones.](https://mjmtbasmrtksluvlnema.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/help-media/web-optimized/chirps/saved-versions/SS-CHIRP-050-01__saved-versions__essentials__detail__v01.webp?v=739af7856e)

3. Click **Restore** on the version you want, then **OK** when asked. It loads into the editor and
replaces your current edits; Chirp Builder says **Version loaded. Check it, then Publish changes.**
4. Check it in the preview, then click **Publish changes**. Visitors see the old version only once you
publish. (If the Chirp is a draft now, publish it by choosing **Unlisted** or **Public** and saving.)

Restoring never changes the web address, who can open the Chirp, the access code or the daily limits.

## If it doesn't work

- **"No saved versions yet."** Versions are saved when you publish. Drafts that were never published
  have none.
- **The version you want is gone.** Your plan keeps only the latest ones. Your Chirp's
[history](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/history) still lists what changed and when.
