There are two ways to get a Chirp: build it yourself in the editor, or bring a Custom GPT over. You can
have as many Chirps as you like on every plan.

![The Chirps page with the Create Chirp button outlined, and Import outlined in the menu on the left.](https://mjmtbasmrtksluvlnema.supabase.co/storage/v1/object/public/help-media/web-optimized/chirps/overview/SS-CHIRP-001-01__ways-to-start__essentials__desktop__v01.webp?v=e1e2a8f1f8)

## Build one yourself

On the **Chirps** page, click **Create Chirp** (1). You give it a name, instructions and conversation
starters, then save, test and publish it.

- Every option: [Create a Chirp by hand](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/create-by-hand)

## Bring your Custom GPTs over

Under **Import** (2) in the menu, you can:

- **Let your AI app do the moving.** Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI app once, and it reads the GPT
folders on your computer and sets each one up as a draft Chirp. See
[Move your Custom GPTs with your AI app](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/move-gpts).
- **Upload a package.** A zipped GPT folder, or an export from Chirp Builder, comes in as draft Chirps.
See [Export Chirps and import a package](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/export-and-import).

## Then look after it

- [Test your Chirp in the preview](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/test-in-preview) before anyone else sees it.
- [Publish, update or unpublish a Chirp](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/publish) when it's ready.

- Keep the list tidy with [folders](https://www.chirpbuilder.com/help/chirps/folders), and
