When you're done, visitors see a few ready-made questions they can tap instead of typing.

**Who can do this:** anyone who can edit the Chirp, on any plan.

## Add starters

1. Open the Chirp and find **3. Conversation starters**.
2. Type a question in **Add a starter…** and click **Add** (or press Enter). Repeat for each one, up to
12, each up to 300 characters.

3. To change a starter, click it and edit the text. To take one away, click the **X** beside it.
4. Click **Save**, then **Publish changes** if the Chirp is already published.

Starters appear in the order you added them. To change the order, remove a starter and add it again.

## What success looks like

Visitors see your starters as buttons when they open the chat. Tapping one sends it as their first
message.

## Good starters

- Show what the Chirp is best at: "What can I plant in October?" beats "Ask me anything".
- Keep them short enough to read at a glance.
- Three or four are usually plenty.
