# Preview a course as a student

> See your course the way students will, including quizzes, without saving any progress.

When you're done, you've walked through your course as a student would, before anyone else sees it.

**Who can do this:** anyone on your team who can open the course.

## Open the preview

Open the course and click **Preview** at the top. The preview opens in a new browser tab.

- The preview shows the **working copy**: everything you've saved, published or not. Once the course is
  published, **See what students see now** (1) switches to the published version, and
  **See the working copy** switches back.
- Lessons open as they would for a student. If the course's lessons open in order, later lessons stay
  locked until you complete the required ones before them: click **Mark complete** at the bottom of a
  lesson to move on.
- **Try the quiz** lets you take a lesson's quiz and see your score (without its time limit). Passing it
  here doesn't open the next lesson: for a quiz students must pass, click
  **Preview: mark the quiz as passed** to move on.
- The tutor panel (2) shows which Chirp answers on each lesson. You can't chat with it in the preview:

- Nothing is saved. Reloading the preview starts again from the beginning.

The arrow at the top left takes you back to the editor.
